What does hybrid work mean? At its most basic, a company has a hybrid work model if it has employees working both in-office and remotely.  


In the current post COVID-19 environment, hybrid work, also known as "teleworking" has transformed all industries and  many jobs. With most of the American workforce now spending much, or all, of their time working from home, organizations are beginning to recognize the critical issues around of a home-based workforce.  72% of employees want to continue working from home.


Hybrid work solutions are a digital based arrangement in which employees do not travel to a central place of work. Hybrid work has three dimensions in its definition framework: 


  1. work location, that can be anywhere outside a centralized organizational work place; 
  2. usage of digital technologies, referring to digital meetings, document exchanges and employee authentication; 
  3. the diversity of employment relationships between employer and employee, ranging from contract work to traditional full-time employment.


Employees assigned to work at home for increased their output by 13.5% versus the office-based control group. This improvement in output arose from working 9% more hours from saved commuting time and from 4.5% improved efficiency from quieter working conditions. The study also found that home-workers reported significantly higher job-satisfaction scores  


 The 2020 mass “work from home” experiment caused by the pandemic, demonstrated that it’s possible to give employees choice without a sacrifice to productivity or experience. Employees now expect flexibility, which means most organizations will need a holistic plan to support both in-office and remote workers.  


In a drastic improvement over the current technologies, our hybrid work  blockchain-based solutions allow the digital workplace employees to collaborate in multi-organizational ecosystems. Only authorized or "permission-ed"  employees have the ability to perform tasks, thereby providing trust, confidentiality and privacy. All workplace meetings and documents exchanges are digital, authenticated by cryptographic hash, and are supported by an immutable "chain of attestation".


Because employee experiences during the pandemic varied so much, all employees don’t have the same preferences. Therefore, it is vital for organizations to tailor work arrangements to different segments of their workforce.
